CASE CONFERENCE - FEBRUARY 11, 2012!

XLerate Case Conference is an exclusive event presented to first year students enrolled in the School of Business and Economics at Wilfrid Laurier University.  Our interactive conference is driven to challenge students’ ability to critically analyze and find solutions to a case based problem, by working in a team and creating a professional presentation to present in front of a panel of judges! XLerate’s Case Conference is a full-day event including a key note speaker, ice-breaking sessions on topics such as networking and resume building, and provides the opportunity to meet with professionals from ICAO and CGA. The Case Conference prepares students for their future academic and professional career by providing them with firsthand experience in integrative case analysis!

BU111 MIDTERM QUIZBOWL

Xlerate will be hosting a midterm review for the upcoming BU111 midterm! Taught by a professional Teacher's Assistant, XLerate quizbowls are a great way to review for midterms and get extra help from our knowledgeable members.

When: Tuesday October 18th, 2011 from 8:30pm- 10:30pm

Free for general members, $5 for non-members. Bring Clickers.

We understand how overwhelming the switch from high school to postsecondary education can be.  Not only is it an entirely new environment, but it is also faster paced and the stakes are much higher.  Luckily, there is a club that is run exclusively for first year students to guide them through the process.  XLerate is a club for students run by students.

We believe the key to a successful university career is being well rounded.  The sole purpose of XL is to promote the personal growth of each student by helping them maintain a balance of academic achievement, extracurricular involvement and social development.  Becoming involved as a general or executive member on XLerate is recognized on the Co-Curricular Record.  Don’t worry, this club isn’t all business – we work hard and play hard.  All of our events give members the perfect opportunity to network with other first year students who are also in SBE, as well as meet upper year students who have recently gone through similar experiences.  We want to help students prepare for the business world, while making sure they are still enjoying their time at Laurier!
